Measure desired length Here are the steps:Choose the lengthOn blunt-cut hair styles, the length is measured from the hair-line (shown with arrows) (the line where the hair starts growing on the neck)On this haircut the length is 3.25 inches from the hair-lineHold the haircutter flush with the back.Move the tip along a line that extends the hair-lineto below the ear (see arrows)The hair will be cut at the level of the dotted line
It will look like a step The results will look like this ... observe A where the length was reduced
See the underlayer When done there will likely be the underlayer showing (see arrow)
Chin in chest to expose underlayer The secret: put the chin in the chestto expose the underlayer more as the arrow shows
Trim underlayer Then go over it side to side to trim the underlayerand to give a nice texture to the hair-ends
Back view If needed, touch it to the ends of the hair with the head straight. Be sure to stay away from the ears. Check both sides for the same length.
How to hold for layered bangs How to do the bangs:The length setting is about 2 inches.Touch the end to the hair-line.For layered bangs, hold at 45 degrees from forehead.
How to hold for blunt bangs For blunt bangs, hold flush with the forehead.
Finished haircut Done!Wear the new haircut for a day. Only after a shampoo can you decide if some touch-up is needed.
